Mesh VS Leather Which Baseball Glove Is Best For P.E. Classes

There isn't a P.E. budget out there these days that would allow you to purchase top of the line Rawlings ball gloves but that doesn't mean you can have some nice gloves for the kids to use.  These days most customers are buying economical ball gloves that are made overseas.  There is still a choice to be made though as these gloves do come in a couple of styles.

There are basically three styles of economy ball gloves… full grain leather, leather palm with vinyl back and leather palm.  Let's take an objective look at all three in price order from most expensive to cheapest in general.

Full grain leather gloves are expensive and at this price level the quality of the leather is not going to be the same as those $300 gloves.  The leather while very durable is tough and needs a lot of use to break in and be soft enough for younger users to really be able to get the best out of the glove.  That being said these are usually the most durable of the economy gloves.  The other thing to keep in mind here is that a full grain leather gloves can get pretty hot and all it takes is a couple of kids with sweaty hands and the inside of that glove may start to take on a life of its own.

Leather palm with vinyl back is nice and a little faster to break in.  The vinyl doesn't have the same durability as real leather but it does lower the price considerably and when you're talking about buying an entire class worth of gloves any savings is a blessing.  Still hot inside though and since these gloves could potentially be used by hundreds of kids it's no wonder that the next option has really taken the market by storm.
