The National Baseball Hall of Fame picture gallery includes photos of the first five inductees. To be inducted a player had to get at least 75% of the votes of the Baseball Writers' Association of America, which is still true to this day . The first five players were Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Honus Wagner, Walter Johnson and Christy Mathewson. The feats of these baseball giants forever earned them a place in baseball history.
Since those first five the Hall of Fame Gallery has grown every year so that now there are over 180 players with plaques. Over 350,000 baseball fans visit the Hall of Fame every year to read the plaques and immerse themselves in baseball. It is baseball paradise.
The National Hall of Fame Museum contains so many interesting stories and actual historical baseball artifacts. You can view Ty Cobb's first contract or an 1870s fingerless glove.
